SEBASTIAN GARCIA

Associate Attorney

 

Sebastian Garcia has worked on legal issues surrounding data privacy policies and cybersecurity throughout his career. As a legal intern, he assisted the supervising legal counsel on cybersecurity standards NIST 800-171 and DFARS 252.204.7012. Additionally, he served as a legislative fellow in the United States Senate. He advised his Senator on numerous space, data privacy, and telecommunications matters, advocated for legislation, prepared for committee hearings, and conducted general oversight of executive agency actions.

Sebastian has a passion for helping clients navigate complicated aspects of regulatory compliance and statutory interpretation. He works closely with clients to guide them through any regulatory and legislative frameworks needed for their cases, ensuring their understanding of these complex rules and regulations. His extensive knowledge of cybersecurity standards and regulations, data privacy policies, government contracts, and False Claims Act violations and cases make him a powerful partner to his clients.

Sebastian is an associate attorney at Whitcomb Selinsky, PC specializing in data/cybersecurity/data privacy, government contracting, and telecommunications law. He brings his diverse experience in and outside the legal field into every personal and professional interaction with clients and peers. 


EXPERIENCE

Before law school, Sebastian served in the U.S. Marine Corps, including a deployment to Afghanistan. 

After graduating from law school, Sebastian was a legal extern and intern in the space field. He was involved in False Claims Act cases, cybersecurity standards, space act agreements, and contract negotiations. Before joining the Whitcomb Selinsky, PC team, he was a Congressional Fellow focusing on telecommunications, space and science, and data privacy policies. Additionally, he advocated for an amendment to the SAT Act, which added protection for earth-based astronomy from optical and radio interference issues associated with non-geostationary orbit satellite constellations.
