WILLIAM SELINSKY

Senior Attorney

 

With over 40 years of legal expertise, Mr. Selinsky skillfully counsels clients through the complexities of government contracting and litigation with a wide breadth of legal knowledge in both the private and public sectors.

At Whitcomb, Selinsky, PC, he works with the firm’s Government Contracting, Litigation, and Trusts and Estates teams.

Before coming to Witcomb, Selinsky, P.C., Mr. Selinsky worked for over 20 years in private practice, with a concentration in insurance coverage and defense, general practice, personal injury, litigation, business, zoning, and municipal law. He subsequently worked in the public sector for over 12 years as an attorney with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Baltimore District, in Baltimore, Md., Seoul, Korea, Charleston, S.C., and Winchester, Va. While with the Corps, he focused on Government Contracting issues, including source selection, bid protests, contract formation, termination, dispute resolution, litigation at the Armed Services Board of Contract Appeals (ASBCA), and the Civilian Board of Contract Appeals (CBCA). He also worked on Environmental Law and Civil Works issues. For his exceptional service to the Baltimore District, Mr. Selinsky was awarded U.S. Army Commendation Medal, the Achievement Medal for Civilian Service (twice), received Letters of Commendation from NSA Director Michael S. Rogers, Admiral, U.S. Navy, Thomas H. Gourlay, Jr., USACE Engineer Chief Trial Attorney, and a Letter of Appreciation from John T. Litz, Colonel, U.S. Army, Commander and District Engineer.

Mr. Selinsky is admitted to the State Bar of Michigan, the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan, the 6th and 7th Circuit Courts of Appeal, the Court of Federal Claims, and the U.S. Supreme Court.

Mr. Selinsky earned a Master of Arts degree from Wayne State University, and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Detroit. He worked for over 12 years with the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department, where he served as a deputy and command officer. He is also a veteran, having honorably served with the Michigan National Guard as a Field Artillery Section Chief. In his community, Mr. Selinsky was elected trustee for the Northville Township (Michigan) Board of Trustees, where he also served as an appointed member of the Zoning Board of Appeals. He has been elected to local homeowners’ boards, served as a Boy Scout adult leader, and volunteered as a youth sports coach.

Mr. Selinsky enjoys most outdoor activities, including hiking in the Colorado State and U.S. National Parks.
