Chard v. Chard involved a dispute between Stephanie Chard and her father, Kent Chard, concerning ownership of the Training Table restaurant business and related real-estate entities in Utah.

The Utah Court of Appeals affirmed some dismissals while reversing others. Among other issues, the court revived an unjust-enrichment claim based on unpaid services, reinstated certain damages evidence and a wrongful-lien counterclaim, and upheld dismissal of fiduciary-duty, legal-malpractice, and fraud claims. The case illustrates the procedural and substantive complexities of family-owned business litigation.
