Steven Haubner is a Senior Attorney for the firm’s Litigation and Government Contracting departments. Steven has more than 13 years of experience handling a variety of complex legal matters in numerous areas including civil and criminal litigation, regulatory compliance and transactional matters. He is licensed in Colorado and Illinois.
Steven focuses his practice in the areas of government contracting and other complex claims including business disputes, breach of contract, and general liability matters. He also advises businesses of all sizes on operating in a highly regulated environment as well as courses of action to minimize exposure to liability and avoid litigation.
In addition to being an experienced civilian attorney, Steven currently serves as a Judge Advocate in the U.S. Army Reserve. Over the past decade he has multiple deployments practicing law in some of the most complex environments in the world including Afghanistan, Iraq and Syria. His experience includes advising senior commanders in both conventional and special operations environments on matters including contract and fiscal law, military justice and administrative investigations on highly sensitive national security matters.
His civilian experience includes serving as a judicial clerk for state and federal court judges, a criminal prosecutor, a civil litigator and in-house counsel for multiple financial institutions. This broad background ensures that no matter your question, issue or dispute, Steven will have a great perspective and vision about how all the possible stakeholders might view the situation. Understanding the motives of other parties is critical to designing creative solutions to complex problems and negotiating mutually beneficial outcomes whenever possible while maintaining a strong position if an agreement cannot be reached.
Outside of work, Steven enjoys spending time with his wife and three children skiing, hiking, golfing and enjoying the outdoors generally.
