Michael Milazzo

Michael Milazzo has a number of strong suits when it comes to practicing law, namely civil litigation, government contracting and intellectual property. His extensive experience includes work for a fast-paced litigation law firm that focused on construction defects, insurance defense, commercial litigation and products liability. He was also the Managing Director for a government contractor that specialized in medical and survival equipment.

Michael grew up in northern New England and received his B. Sc. (cum laude) In biology from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, with a focus on plant physiology. As an undergraduate, Michael published several papers in scientific journals related to plant biotechnology. Upon graduation, he worked in research chemical engineering firms, specializing in the formulation and optimization of multicomponent photocatalysts for the destruction of toxic gases. Michael is a co-inventor on patents related to this work.

While still in law school, Michael worked for the United States Army Legal Services Agency in Washington, D.C., (JAG), and at the Office of the State Judge Advocate, Vermont. Michael established himself in Colorado after graduating from Vermont Law School in 2005, interning for the Colorado Attorney General’s Office in the Natural Resources and Environment Section while continuing his work on his master’s degree in environmental law, which he received in 2006 (cum laude).

After finishing his degrees, Michael set his focus on civil litigation. In addition, Michael is a registered patent attorney with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). He is an active member in the Colorado Intellectual Property American Inn of Court (CO IP AIC) and the Colorado Bar Association’s Intellectual Property Section. As an entrepreneur, Michael developed two companies while simultaneously pursing his legal goals, and now focuses his energies on corporate contracting with the federal government and intellectual property.

A United States Army combat veteran, Michael served as a reconnaissance paratrooper in a scout/sniper platoon for the 82nd Airborne Division, and is a graduate of the elite U.S. Army Airborne and Ranger Schools.

It’s little wonder that Michael finds himself practicing law in the great state of Colorado. His personal interests include backpacking, wilderness survival, and gardening. He has two young boys who constantly keep him going.
