Divorce & Family Law
Sabra Janko is a highly-skilled attorney and mediator who specializes in divorce and family law. Based on her extensive experience in this arena, she understands firsthand how difficult divorce and interpersonal family matters can truly be. Her steadfast focus remains on brokering settlements and low-conflict resolutions whenever possible. Her unique background also affords her special expertise when it comes to divorce and family law specifically for military families and the unusual challenges they face. Previously as the principal attorney and owner of JLaw LLC, she even supported access to justice by making alternative fee arrangement accessible to all.
Sabra earned a B.A. in Behavioral Science at the University of Maryland, an M.P.A. in Public Administration at the University Oklahoma and her J.D. at the University of Maryland School of Law before topping it all off with an L.L.M. in Military Law at The Judge Advocate General’s Legal Center and School. She was also an Assistant Professor of Law at the United States Military School in West Point, where she taught constitutional and criminal law to undergraduate students for five consecutive semesters.
Along with her other accomplishments, Sabra spearheaded the design and implementation of a very successful Federal Pro Se Clinic for the Colorado Bar Association where she personally conducted 323 consultations and advised 178 self-represented litigants in federal litigation matters. She also coordinated legal development and training for Holland & Hart LLP, where she revived the firm’s pro bono program.
Sabra is dually licensed to practice law in Colorado and New York, is accredited with the Veteran’s Administration and was admitted to both the Court of Appeals of the Armed Forces Bar and the United States Supreme Court Bar. Yet she still manages to make time to volunteer for the American Legion, be an Assistant Den Leader for a Cub Scout Pack and periodically gives presentations about Women in Military History.
